Civil Project Engineer

Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Project Engineer to join our team and support the successful delivery of large-scale civil infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for overseeing on-site engineering activities, ensuring construction is carried out in line with design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. The successful candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage on-site engineering works, ensuring compliance with design specifications, project scope, and timelines.

  • Interpret and review construction drawings, blueprints, scopes of work, and specifications to provide accurate technical support.

  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to collect data and proactively identify risks or issues.

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution, covering WHSE, ITPs, quality assurance, and cost tracking.

  • Ensure all site activities adhere to safety regulations, industry standards, and relevant legislation.

  • Monitor construction progress and proactively address issues or delays in coordination with site supervisors and project managers.

  • Carry out quality control inspections to ensure that construction work aligns with specified standards and expectations.

  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate project documentation including reports, logs, and records using construction project management systems.

  • Provide on-site instruction and support to construction workers and subcontractors.

  • Perform additional duties within your area of expertise as required to support project and organisational success.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification or certification in Civil Engineering, Site Engineering, or Construction Management.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in large-scale civil infrastructure projects.

  • Solid understanding of engineering principles and construction methodologies.

  • Strong knowledge of WHSE, ITPs, and quality management systems.

  • Experience with construction project management software.

  • First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).


Stakeholder Engagement

  • Internal: Collaborate with all internal departments and project teams.

  • External: Liaise with subcontractors, clients, and suppliers to ensure alignment and delivery of project objectives.
