Vinova are working exclusivly with a leading renewable energy developer who are expanding their Australian team we are looking for a skilled finacnial modeller to support its growing portfolio of solar, and energy storage projects. This company is leading the shift toward renewable energy, developing innovative, large-scale projects that contribute to a more sustainable future.
About the Role
In this role you will be responsible for financial modelling and project analysis to support investment decisions, financing strategies, and development feasibility. You will collaborate with internal business development and commercial teams, providing insights that enhance the bankability and profitability of projects. The role will involve working with project stakeholders, assessing financial risks, and ensuring that models are optimized for various financing scenarios.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain financial models to support project financing, acquisitions, and development.
- Assess and compare different project scenarios, including revenue forecasts, capital expenditure, and grid costs.
- Lead financial modelling efforts for debt financing, equity investments, and corporate funding structures.
- Work closely with investment committees, presenting insights on project bankability and financial viability.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to structure financing solutions for renewable energy projects.
- Incorporate contract pricing and PPA terms into financial models to evaluate investor returns.
- Assist with mergers, acquisitions, and project sales, ensuring thorough financial due diligence.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 5+ years experience in project finance, corporate finance, or M&A
- Background and experience in the energy and renewables market
- Experience in buy side and sell side moddeling is desirable
- Advanced financial modelling skills, with the ability to analyze complex investment scenarios.
- Strong understanding of IRR, risk assessment, and factors influencing project profitability.
- Experience in investment banking, private equity, utilities, or renewable energy development preferred.
- Hands-on experience with acquisitions, divestments, and project financing from early-stage development through to completion.
