Principal Electrical Engineer

About the Role
Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in high-voltage (HV) infrastructure? We are seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead and contribute to large-scale energy infrastructure projects, including substations and transmission lines.
Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and play a critical role in tender support and engineering development. Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership in the design, analysis, and execution of HV energy infrastructure projects.

Conduct load flow assessments, plant specifications, switching analysis, and develop plant specifications.

Lead engineering development efforts, ensuring technical excellence in power systems.

Mentor and develop junior engineers.

Support tender processes through technical input and evaluation.

Drive specific engineering development and ensure best practices in power system analysis.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
About You
You are a highly skilled Electrical Engineer with a deep understanding of large-scale electrical infrastructure, ideally gained from working with major organisations, focussing on energy infrastructure. You possess hands-on expertise in substations, transmission lines, and renewable energy infrastructure.
To be successful in this role, you will have:

8+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer in high-voltage (HV) projects.

Experience working on HV systems above 60kV and transmission lines exceeding 250kV.

Strong skills in load flow analysis, fault analysis, switching analysis, protection, and plant specification development.

Experience in substations or transmission lines within renewables or energy infrastructure.

Expertise in power systems, including load flow, fault analysis, and protection studies.

Proficiency in software tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, PowerFactory, DIgSILENT, SinTAP, etc. (tools available in-house).
