Role Overview
We are seeking a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer with strong technical expertise in solar farm design and battery energy storage systems (BESS), combined with commercial acumen to support project feasibility assessments. You will play a key role in both project development and execution, helping drive projects through technical diligence, feasibility analysis, and to financial close.
Key Responsibilities

Lead technical aspects of solar PV and BESS project designs, including conceptual layouts and feasibility models

Conduct energy resource assessments and yield analysis using PVSyst

Drive project feasibility studies, balancing technical design with commercial viability

Liaise with independent engineers and technical advisors to support financial close

Prepare and review technical documentation, electrical SLDs, and site layouts

Assist with grid connection processes, including modelling and technical submissions

Support technical evaluation of potential development sites and siting activities

Provide technical inputs into project finance models and broader development strategy

Review EPC contractor designs to ensure alignment with project specifications and performance requirements

Attend construction sites for witness testing, inspections, and quality assurance

Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, banks, consultants, and vendors
What we require from you?

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

Strong technical background in utility-scale solar PV and/or BESS projects in Australia

Experience working on the developer side or with technical consultancies directly supporting developers and banks
-
Proficient in PVSyst, AutoCAD, and MS Excel; experience with PVCase is highly desirable

Solid understanding of Australian standards (e.g., AS/NZS) and grid connection processes

Strong commercial awareness and experience supporting project feasibility and technical due diligence

Excellent communication, technical writing, and stakeholder engagement skills

Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently

Australian PR or Citizenship required
